Move from another host, for free
Hosting a game server or website somewhere else? Our team moves it to your new IronVault server for you. You give us the files or temporary access; we do the copying.

How it works
- Order your new server. Pick the plan that fits on our hosting page. The move itself costs nothing extra.
- Open a "Move from another host" ticket. Go to Support, choose Move from another host, and tell us what you're moving and where it is now.
- Give us a way to the files. Either upload a backup or archive yourself, or give us temporary access at your old host, such as an SFTP or FTP login or a panel sub-user. Share it only inside the ticket.
- We copy it over. A member of our team moves your files (and databases for websites), sets the server up and tells you in the ticket when it's ready to test.
- Switch over. Test it, then point players or your domain at the new address. Change the password you gave us at the old host, or remove our access there.

Questions
Is the migration really free?
Yes. Moving your existing server or website to an IronVault plan you've ordered costs nothing extra.
How long does it take?
It's done by a person, not a script, so it isn't instant. It depends on the size and the old host; we'll tell you what to expect in your ticket.
What can you move?
Game server worlds, saves, configs, mods and plugins, and websites (files and databases). Tell us about anything unusual in the ticket and we'll say honestly whether we can move it.
What can't you move?
Anything the old host doesn't let you or us download, and software that needs a licence you don't hold for the new server.
Do you need my password?
Only a temporary login for the old host, and only inside your ticket. Never your IronVault password. Our staff never ask for passwords in DMs.
