Install Warden Voice on a Rust server
Warden Voice transcribes voice chat on your Rust server on our own servers and checks it against your rules. A small Oxide/uMod (or Carbon) plugin sends the voice and carries out warns, mutes and bans. Each plan covers one server and a number of voice hours a month.
- Link Discord and buy a plan. In the client area, link your Discord account, then order a plan on the Warden Voice page.
- Add your server. Open the Warden Voice dashboard from the client area (you are signed in with your IronVault account), choose Rust server and press Add server.
- Install the plugin. Press Download plugin and copy `WardenVoice.cs` into `oxide/plugins/` (Carbon: `carbon/plugins/`). The first load writes `oxide/config/WardenVoice.json` and unloads with a warning, because no token is set yet.
- Add your token. Press Plugin config next to your server and save the file as `oxide/config/WardenVoice.json`, or paste the token and voice endpoint into that file yourself. Then run `oxide.reload WardenVoice`. The console says `Connected to Warden Voice.`
- Tell your players. Players see a chat notice a few seconds after they join ("Voice chat on this server is monitored by Warden Voice…"). Change the text, the retention and an optional reminder in the dashboard, and add the same line to your server rules.
What happens to a flagged line
The plugin adds up the weight of your rules (and ours) for each transcript. Over your threshold it runs the next step of the ladder in `WardenVoice.json` (warn, mute, ban) and can post the clip to Discord. The dashboard keeps flagged lines and clips for your retention period, 14 days unless you change it (90 at most), then deletes them.
Voice hours
Your plan includes a monthly allowance of voice hours: hours of speech actually transcribed, not time connected. You get an alert at 80%. At 100% transcription pauses until the plan renews; nothing extra is ever charged. A bigger plan resumes it straight away.
Discord voice channels
Choose Discord voice channels when adding a server, invite IronVault's voice bot, then run `/voice enable` with the token and `/voice channels add` for each channel. The bot pins the monitored notice in each channel's chat.
Commands
`wardenvoice whitelist <steamid>` exempts a player, `wardenvoice reset <steamid|all>` clears violations. Permission `wardenvoice.whitelist` also exempts a player.
Questions
The console says the token was rejected
Copy the token again from the dashboard (a New token replaces the old one), and make sure the server you added is a Rust server. A 402 in the console means the plan isn't active or this month's voice hours are used up.
